Law firm Lextranja focuses specifically on immigration law and we offer assistance for, among other things, the following proceedings.

ASYLUM AND RESIDENCE PROCEDURES

People fleeing violence, persecution or war may receive protection in Belgium. They can apply for asylum. The asylum authorities determine whether they are in need for international protection. How, is more and more determined by European rules. Worldwide, most refugees are received by developing countries. For people on the run it is very difficult to get safely to Europe on their own.

REGULARIZATION, FAMILY REUNIFICATION AND LONG STAY PROCEDURES

Regularization is the exceptional granting of a stay to a person who has no legal residence, or only a precarious or temporary residence.

Through family reunification, you can sometimes obtain a right of residence if you have family members in Belgium.

NATIONALITY, DETENTION AND DEPORTATION

If their asylum application is rejected, asylum seekers must leave the country. They have to go to a specific centre pending their return and from where they can leave voluntarily. If they don’t, the government can detain them and forcibly deport them.
