Evelien Verstraeten obtained her Master of Law degree at the University of Ghent in 2015.

Already during her studies she developed an interest in international law and human rights. During an internship at Progress Lawyers Network Antwerp in 2014, she developed an interest in immigration law.

In October 2015, she started as an trainee lawyer at the Bar of Bruges with Dominique Van Eenoo. Here, she became fully proficient in immigration law.

From April 2018, she joined the law firm Voorrecht, where she worked as a lawyer until September 2020.

Since 1 October 2020, she has set up her own law firm in Leuven, where she fully specializes in immigration law.
